Learnship trainers have been without pay since October. We’ve had no explanation about why this is. We don’t know when – and even if – we’ll get paid.
Learnship teachers deserve better. We deserve to know what’s happening with the company. We deserve to be kept informed. And, most of all, we deserve to get paid.
Who we are:
We’re a group of Learnship trainers who are fighting to get what we deserve. We came together through the Facebook groups and WhatsApp chats that started after we all realised that we hadn’t been paid.
We’re not going to wait and see what happens and we’re not willing to accept that we won’t get paid for our work. We’re here to hold Learnship to account and we’re not going away.
We’re being supported by the TEFL Workers’ Union in the UK. If you have a UK bank account, we suggest you join the union. We’re also building relationships with unions in other countries to coordinate action and build solidarity.
What we want:
- We’ve elected staff reps. Management needs to sit down with our reps immediately to answer our questions and let us know what’s happening with the company.
- A promise that we will get paid in full. If the company is going into administration, we need it in writing that teachers will be at the top of the list of creditors.
- A clear timeline on when we can expect to get paid.
- An apology. The behaviour of the company has been atrocious. We deserve better – and we deserve an apology for what we’ve been through.
